Creating ethnically sensitive results are critical to a successful outcome. For example, the hairline in various ethnicities are markedly different.
Ethnic hair restoration is beyond good design, ethnic hair qualities are remarkably different and must be understood in order to achieve natural results. For Asian hair transplantation, the very thick, straight black hair against a paler skin background must be placed at very low angles to appear natural. For African hair restoration, the curlier black hair must be harvested with precision and placed in such a way that the hair matches the exit angles of the scalp. For Middle Eastern hair restoration and Hispanic hair transplantation, they both are naturally much coarser in general and must be placed at the right angulation to create the most aesthetically pleasing and natural results, which also indirectly lead to greater perceived hair density. Being of ethnic origin himself, Dr. Lam is particularly attuned to the needs of the non-Caucasian patient, whether male or female, seeking hair restoration.
