Lam Institute Training Program

The Lam Institute Training Program for Physicians and Surgical Assistants

The Lam Institute Training Program (LITP) is a branch of the Lam Institute for Hair Restoration dedicated to helping physicians establish a successful and premiere quality hair-restoration practice. LITP provides on-site training for surgical assistants and mentorship for physicians in all aspects (non-clinical and clinical) of a hair-restoration practice.

Our training program can make the difference between success and failure. Unlike other cosmetic enterprises that are principally dependent on the physician for success, hair restoration requires a sophisticated, well-trained and dedicated team of surgical assistants and ancillary staff. We are here to provide the most comprehensive program for the physician, assistants, and the ancillary staff which covers from the non-clinical management of the front office to the clinical management of every aspect of patient care.

Besides being convenient, LITP can also be financially beneficial to you. This intensive on-site training program may actually require no monetary outlay on your part. Unlike other programs that train your staff at an off-site location, we focus on training your staff and helping you structure your practice at your office. By doing so, you can receive remuneration for surgeries performed on your patients and have your surgical assistants trained while receiving our extensive support and guidance throughout.
Training

Success begins with the initial patient encounter. Professionalism of your front office staff as well as your expertise and understanding of the patient’s needs will determine whether the prospective individual will elect your services. Key components of our non-clinical training include organizational structuring of your practice, creating a dynamic consultation, finding your marketing niche, and other basic and advanced administrative topics. A hair restoration surgeon cannot operate without a proficient team of 2 or more surgical assistants. However, currently no school for assistant training exists to meet that demand. Without a skilled team behind a surgeon, quality and efficiency of any hair-restoration procedure will almost certainly fall short of the desired aesthetic mark. For that reason, our clinical training offers on-site expert surgical assistance while simultaneously training up to 3 assistants and providing coaching for a physician. Because it often takes three to six months for transplanted hair to grow and see the results of surgery, the success of a hair-restoration practice depends not only on good surgical skills but also on relationships with established patients. Our training teaches techniques for managing difficult clinical scenarios and includes post-training phone support (for 4 hours over the following 6 months). For those who would like to refine their skills we offer additional, optional post-training visits and/or simply phone coaching.
